Trade on structure, not on instinct.
Structure read the Smart Money way on gold and the US indices, with a rule gate on every trade.

Structure first, entry second, rules always.
The same three passes run on every instrument the desk touches, in the same order, before a ticket exists.
Bias from higher timeframes
Direction is set on the Daily and 4H before any entry is hunted.
Market structure decides the bias, and structure is only the sequence of highs and lows. Higher highs and higher lows mean longs only; the mirror means shorts. No trade fights the higher-timeframe read.
Entries at structure, in the zone
BOS confirms continuation, CHoCH flags reversal, OTE times the entry.
On the 1H and 15m the desk waits for a Break of Structure or a Change of Character, then for the pullback into the 62 to 79 percent retracement of the leg. That band is the Optimal Trade Entry, and a ticket is written inside it.
Risk under hard rules
One percent per trade, half a percent per day, and two losses closes the desk.
Every trade risks at most 1% of equity and targets at least 2R. A 0.5% down day or two consecutive losses closes the desk. At entry the platform refuses anything over the 1% cap, a third A+ setup, or any ticket on a locked day, and a ticket below 2R logs with the departure marked against it.
The journal and the briefing, in one terminal.
Everything the desk needs during a session sits on one surface: the read, the ticket that comes out of it, and the record it leaves.
A journal that says no
The nine-section briefing
Structure, computed
Performance that answers questions
Four charts carry the whole desk.
XAUUSD on the 1H, NAS100 and SP500 on the 15m, US30 on the 1H, plus an FX watch list read for context and never traded.
An edge is a rule, not a prediction.
- A desk, not a fund
- No outside money is managed and no signals are sold. The platform exists to run one desk well.
- Numbers before narrative
- Every analysis line restates a computed value. If the math did not produce a level, the text cannot claim it.
- Rules over feelings
- The risk rules are enforced by software at the moment of entry.
Questions the desk gets asked.
What is Root & Rise?
A private Smart Money Concepts trading desk and the software it runs on. It does not manage outside money and it does not sell trade signals.
Which markets does the desk trade?
Gold on the 1H, NAS100 and SP500 on the 15m, and US30 on the 1H. An FX watch list is read for context and never traded.
How is an entry decided?
Bias is set on the Daily and 4H from market structure. On the 1H and 15m the desk waits for a Break of Structure or a Change of Character, then for the pullback into the 62 to 79 percent Optimal Trade Entry zone before a ticket is written.
What are the risk rules?
Every trade risks at most 1 percent of equity and targets at least 2R. A 0.5 percent down day or two consecutive losses closes the desk for the session. The journal refuses a ticket over the 1 percent cap, a third A+ setup, or any ticket written on a locked day rather than flagging it, and a ticket below the 2R minimum logs with the departure marked against it.
The desk is behind the sign-in.
The briefing, the journal, and the rule book. The terminal is where the day starts and ends.
